Plays a crucial role in crista junction formation and mitochondrial function (By similarity). Can induce cardiac lipotoxicity by enhancing mitochondrial respiration and fatty acid metabolism in cardiac myoblasts. [PubMed: 24743151 Promotes cholesterol efflux from macrophage cells.
