Protein Name:
Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase GAPC2, cytosolic
|
UniprotKB/SwissProt ID: Q9FX54 (Q9FX54)
Gene Name:
GAPC2
Organism: Arabidopsis thaliana (Mouse-ear cress)
Function: Key enzyme in glycolysis that catalyzes the first step of the pathway by converting D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P) into 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate. Essential for the maintenance of cellular ATP levels and carbohydrate metabolism (By similarity). Binds DNA in vitro (PubMed:22589465). Together with DNA polymerase II subunit B3-1 (DPB3-1) and GAPC1, enhances heat tolerance and promotes the expression of heat-inducible genes (PubMed:32651385)
