SDH also oxidizes malate to the non-canonical enol form of oxaloacetate, enol-oxaloacetate. Enol-oxaloacetate, which is a potent inhibitor of the succinate dehydrogenase activity, is further isomerized into keto-oxaloacetate (By similarity). Can act as a tumor suppressor (By similarity)
